Buying

Register a free account, verify your email, then click "Place Bid" on any live auction. Enter an amount at least R500 above the current bid. You'll be notified immediately if someone outbids you.

Some sellers set a hidden minimum price (the reserve). If bidding ends below it, the car doesn't have to be sold. "No Reserve" auctions always sell to the highest bidder.

Yes. A bid is a commitment to buy at that price if you win. Only bid what you're prepared to pay. Backing out of a winning bid may result in account suspension.

Koloi Ya Goa introduces you to the seller. You arrange inspection, payment, and collection directly. We recommend using our secure payment flow (see "How do payments work?").

Yes — contact the seller through the comments section to arrange a viewing, or request our optional independent inspection (from R1,500 in major centres).

Selling

Listing is free. We charge a 2.5% success fee only when your car sells. No sale, no fee.

Most listings are reviewed and approved within 24 hours. We may contact you for additional photos or documents.

A minimum of 20 photos: all exterior angles, interior, engine bay, underbody, tyres, and any defects. Honest, detailed listings sell for more.

Yes. You can set a hidden reserve, or run a "No Reserve" auction (which typically attracts more bidders and higher engagement).

The standard auction runs for 7 days. This gives buyers time to inspect, ask questions, and bid.

Payments & Safety

For the buyer's protection, we recommend our secure payment hold: the buyer pays into a protected account, funds are only released to the seller once the buyer confirms collection. Direct EFT is also available if both parties agree.

Every seller completes ID verification (RSA ID or passport) and must provide proof of vehicle ownership (registration papers / NaTIS document) before a listing goes live.

Yes. We use HTTPS encryption site-wide, hash all passwords, and comply with POPIA. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy.
